Charles Thomas Braddock was born in Parwich, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Blackboy Hill Camp, Western Australia, on the 17th May 1915, aged 30 years and 11 months old. His occupation was a railway repairer, and his next of kin was his father, Charles Braddock, of Parwich. He was 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighed 154 pounds, had a fair complexion, blue eyes and auburn hair, and belonged to the Church of England. He was taken on the strength of the 16th Battalion at Gallipoli on 2nd August 1915, and was killed in action just six days later. Personal effects returned to his father after his death included a hair and clothes brush, a razor, two combs, a purse and a prayer book.
Ashbourne News, 16th June 1916 He emigrated to Australia in 1911. His parents resided at Parwich, and at one time he was employed by Mr. W. Brown, of Osmaston Fields.
